Contribute to the Sandy Hook Memorial and Scholarship Fund
CEA is collecting donations to the Sandy Hook Memorial and Scholarship Fund through its charitable arm, the Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF). CEF is a non-profit, charitable foundation that was established in 1991 to help teachers and children with extraordinary challenges.
Gifts collected will go towards the Sandy Hook School Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Connecticut and the creation of a bronze sculpture memorializing the heroism and sacrifice that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School. For more about the fund, read the press release.
The Sandy Hook School Memorial Scholarship Fund at UConn will help support the college costs for any siblings of those killed in the assault, the dependents of the adults who also lost their lives, as well as students currently enrolled at the elementary school, who are accepted to attend the University.
CEA has commissioned sculptor Marilyn Parkinson Thrall to create the sculpture, which will be unveiled in 2014.
Teachers as well as the general public can make donations via credit card by clicking here.
