CEU Requirements for renewal of a professional educator certificate

All educators who hold a professional educator certificate must earn 9 continuing education units (CEUs) during the 5-year validity period of the certificate in order to renew it.  One CEU is equal to 10 hours of instructional time.  CEUs may be earned in a variety of ways, whether through one’s school district, another approved CEU provider, or through taking coursework at an accredited college or university.  In the past few years, legislation has changed the original CEU requirements; the complete listing of CEU requirements for all endorsements is below.
