SUMMARY:123…Eyes on Me Workshop
DESCRIPTION:How to tell you story to get legislators on your side \nConnecticut educators are invited to a hands on workshop to learn how to advocate for yourself\, your students\, and your profession by sharing your unique and personal stories about what’s really happening in the classroom. \nLegislators want to hear from educators about the challenges in our schools. But how do you share your stories to effect change and get our legislative priorities passed? Faith Sweeney\, NEA Professional Practice and Policy Teaching Fellow\, will facilitate an informative session to help you become a better advocate for yourself and your students. \nCEA presenters include Communications Director Nancy Andrews\, Legal Counsel Rebecca Mitchell\, Political Engagement Coordinator Gus Melita\, and Legislative Coordinator Lou Rosado Burch\, who will talk strategies to help us strengthen our messaging at the state and local levels so that our voices are heard by lawmakers and our legislative priorities are passed. \nPresented by CEA’s Ethnically Diverse Educators Commission (EDEC)\, the workshop is part of the Teacher Leaders for Equity Program. \n\n\n\nDownload Flyer
