Dear Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that the Golf Tournament Committee has made the very difficult decision to cancel the Connecticut Education Foundation’s (CEF) 26th Annual Golf Tournament due to the myriad issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Hands Across the Green Golf Tournament represents 60 percent of the funding that is collected for CEF. This non-profit, charitable foundation was established in 1991 to help teachers and children experiencing extraordinary personal hardships, as well as to provide scholarships for students planning on entering the teaching profession.
Every year, CEA members ask for support for students whose basic needs cannot be met by their families—everything from clothes and shoes to eyeglasses and prescription medicine. Since its inception, CEF has disbursed hundreds of thousands of dollars to help alleviate these hardships, which are impediments to learning. By erasing these impediments, you have helped to provide a path forward with care and compassion. We can’t thank our sponsors, such as you, enough.
Because your contributions sustain the foundation and allow us to meet the needs of so many children, we thank you for past support and implore you to continue supporting CEF. Please consider making a monetary donation to the Connecticut Education Foundation by sending a check, made out to CEF, to
