Help spread the love of reading in your community and get books into the hands of kids with CEF’s Little Free Library Challenge. In honor of Read Across Connecticut, the Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF) is offering 20 Little Free Library kits and books to districts that apply. Priority will be given to Alliance Districts.
“We’re looking forward to seeing students and teachers around the state working together to build Little Free Libraries,” says CEF President and CEA Vice President Joslyn DeLancey. “The Little Free Libraries are another fun way to bring books to our students and our communities and grow children’s love of reading.”
CEA members can apply for a Little Free Library kit and a book donation or just a book donation. If you commit to building your own Little Free Library without Foundation resources your district may be awarded a book donation to go in the Little Free Library. Regardless of whether you’re seeking CEF resources, please share photos so we can celebrate Little Free Libraries around the state. Use the hashtag #ReadAcrossCT on social media.
Get your students involved to build a Little Free Library for your community. It’s a great project for after-school clubs or STEM or career and technical education classes.
