Dianna Roberge-Wentzell, chief academic officer for the state Department of Education, will be named interim commissioner of education at the state Board of Education’s meeting this Wednesday.
The statement below is from CEA President Sheila Cohen on Roberge-Wentzell’s appointment.
We look forward to working with Dr. Dianna Roberge-Wentzell as the interim state education commissioner. CEA has worked with Dianna on a variety of issues and committees. She has extensive public education experience and she understands the importance of a strong public education system—one that requires the resources students and teachers need to succeed.
We eagerly await the appointment of a permanent commissioner with a rich and robust background in public education, so we can get down to the long-term collaboration, planning, and teacher leadership that is vital to serving the needs of all Connecticut public school students.
