CEA members and their families will be taking part in the Connecticut Climate March and Hartford Earth Festival this Sunday, May 31. At noon we’ll be marching from the State Capitol to the Mortensen Riverfront Plaza where there will be live music, inspiring speakers, food, and games.
This is a family friendly event and a wonderful opportunity to get involved in the Climate Justice movement. CEA is sponsoring the Inspiration Station for kids of all ages from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza.
The free outdoor event will feature live performances (including musicians, circus performers, and a magician), short workshops for adults, many children’s activities, and numerous vendors and exhibitors covering a wide range of eco-themed topics.
“CEA is proud to be able to give our youngest citizens direct access to hands-on activities that teach them about protecting the environment,” said CEA Vice President Jeff Leake. “Our teachers recognize that our students are powerful agents for change. Providing them with relevant education on the need for clean water, the impact of climate change, and other pressing environmental issues teaches them about the importance of contributing to a sustainable world.
“Engaging, interactive learning opportunities create lifelong, sustainable habits,” Leake continued. “Children are our best hope for protecting the earth in the future, and sharing their knowledge with family members and friends will help change the world.”
