Legislators have until May 8 to pass or reject laws with lasting impacts on your livelihood and your students—and they need a push from you. Join us Wednesday, April 17, for CEA Lobby Day at the State Capitol to help move teacher priorities forward.
If you’re in school that day, join us after the school day is over. If you’re on spring break that week, come up earlier in the day for a chance to talk with your legislators and make sure they know why raising teacher salaries, providing educators with a COVID credit, enhancing just cause provisions, and restoring good faith to the DCF mandated reporting process are so vital.
“It makes a big difference when legislators hear directly from their teacher constituents,” says CEA President Kate Dias. “In recent years, CEA Lobby Day and other face-to-face conversations with legislators have gotten us many important wins, including a guaranteed 30-minute, duty-free lunch, an end to combined in-person and remote teaching, changes to teacher evaluation, and much more.”
Come together with other Connecticut teachers next Wednesday, and we’ll mix things up, have fun, and make a lasting difference for our profession.
