Make sure to check your mailbox in the coming days for an important letter from CEA asking you to help advocate on behalf of issues that impact your financial future and your working conditions.
CEA has been at the forefront in promoting safety and health for all educators and students during the COVID-19 pandemic and addressing the many challenges you are facing. In recent weeks you have signed petitions and called your legislators.
Please take an additional step and sign and mail the postage-paid postcards (found in the envelope from CEA that will be arriving soon) to your legislators, advocating for policies that address quarantines, remote instruction, and childcare concerns for you and your colleagues.
Helping is easy:
- Look for the CEA letter.
- Find the enclosed postage-paid postcards addressed to your legislators.
- Sign and mail the postcards as soon as you can – and feel free to add a personal note too.
The postcards ask your legislators to urge Governor Lamont to take action on behalf of educators. Your actions on behalf of your colleagues will go a long way toward helping us address COVID-19 challenges.
Phone calls to legislators
While you await the arrival of your letter from CEA with the postcards, please continue to reach out and call your legislators.
Urge them to tell Governor Lamont to require school districts to provide:
- Remote teaching opportunities to educators who are quarantined, or if not possible, special paid quarantine leave for educators
- Paid leave for school employees who have to take time to care for a child whose school or childcare provider is unavailable for reasons related to COVID-19

Thank you for your dedication to your students, your colleagues, and the teaching profession during these trying times. We are stronger together!
