CEA is teaming up with our colleagues at AFT Connecticut in support of a Teacher and Student School Supply Drive sponsored by iHeartMedia Connecticut’s Community Access program.
This Wednesday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. iHeartMedia and partners will be collecting school supplies as well as new teddy bears for children in trauma at Xfinity Theater in Hartford.
If you are not able to attend the event in Hartford, you can also support the supply drive by purchasing an item that will benefit The Salvation Army from iHeartMedia’s Amazon wish list.
In Hartford, you can donate one or more of the following highly requested back-to-school items for students, which will be accepted by volunteers at the contactless event:
- backpacks
- lunch boxes/bags
- traditional school supplies such as pencils, glue sticks, binders, etc.
- cleaning supplies:
- tissues
- wipes
- sanitizer
- paper towels
- cleaning spray
- ear buds
- tech items
New teddy bears for children in trauma to be distributed by the Salvation Army are also requested.
Every car that donates will receive six masks donated in kind by the Rossi Family Foundation. The first 500 cars will also receive hand sanitizer from Mizzi Cosmetics.
Event sponsors are also providing AFT Connecticut and CEA with 10,000 masks each to distribute to affiliated local unions.
