Is Your School Making You Sick?

Teachers across the state say mold, rodent droppings, and extreme temperatures in schools are just some of the problems making them and their students sick. Read the results of CEA’s survey. Watch NBC Connecticut tonight at 11pm for a special report: Classrooms in Disrepair.

New Process for Retrieving Your Membership ID

CEA’s member-only webpages require your membership ID number. Find it on the membership card you received at the start of the school year or on the mailing label of your CEA Advisor. Still can’t find it? Log into NEA Ed Communities and create a personal profile. Once your profile is complete, you can retrieve your membership number anytime.

Don’t Go It Alone

One of the best things you can do for yourself as an early-career educator is make time to socialize and learn from other new teachers. Enjoy free food, networking, and more at a CEA Early-Career Educator Social near you.

What Keeps You Up At Night?

That’s the question new Department of Children and Families Commissioner Vannessa Dorantes posed to teachers during CEA’s Q&A meeting with DCF officials Monday night. The commissioner and her staff listened and responded to teachers’ concerns on a host of topics, including mandated reporting issues, over-reporting by administrators, retaliatory reports against teachers, seatbelt reporting, increased DCF investigations, and more. Read about this important topic on blogcea.org or watch the video of the meeting.
