Getting your cross-endorsement in technology education can open doors to new STEM teaching positions, and the CT STEM Academy wants to help you get there.
Thanks to grant support from the NEA Community Advocacy and Partnership Engagement initiative, 20 educators enrolled in the CT STEM Academy program will have their testing fees and the costs of test prep reimbursed; in addition, they will receive a stipend.
“This is a great opportunity for educators looking to get the technology cross-endorsement,” says CT STEM Academy Director and Wallingford teacher Chris Stone. “You just have to be a practicing educator and pass the Praxis to get the cross-endorsement.”
Starting in early November, the CT STEM Academy will be offering weekly study/test preparation sessions for those interested in taking the technology education cross-endorsement Praxis test (5051).
Meeting Times
Virtual study sessions will take place on the following Tuesdays via Google Meet from 7:50 to 8:30 p.m.: 11/1, 11/8, 11/15, 11/29, and 12/6.
Participants will be expected to study independently between these sessions.
Fee Reimbursement and Stipend
Fees are to be paid upfront by participants. Upon providing a test registration receipt, each participant will be reimbursed by the program.
- $200 stipend upon full participation in the program
- $140, which includes funding to cover the majority of test preparation and test fees
- $50 toward the cross endorsement application
- $50 toward the endorsement fee upon passing the test
