Position yourself for success as a leader of color in your district, union, and classroom by participating in CEA’s second annual Summit on Diversity.
Saturday, April 6
9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hotel Marcel, (next to IKEA)
500 Sargent Drive
New Haven, CT
Why should you attend?
The conference elevates the voices of underrepresented members and provides opportunities for you to learn, lead, and problem solve with educators of color.
This year’s summit will focus on leadership for today, tomorrow, and beyond. It will provide you with the opportunity to grow, develop new skills, and network with an ethnically diverse group of Connecticut educators.
What are your colleagues saying?
Last year’s attendees had nothing but praise for the event.
Danbury teacher Luanelly Iglesias said the summit helped her “feel empowered, and we need to help other teachers feel empowered too.”
Encouraging her colleagues to attend this event, Bloomfield Education Association President Gail Jorden says, “It lifts us all up, and it’s a great way to make connections with a wide variety of educators across Connecticut while gaining valuable insight into what it takes to advocate for yourself, your colleagues, and your students.”
The summit is free for all CEA members and includes breakfast and lunch. The event is hosted by CEA’s Racial and Ethnic Diversity Affairs Commission (REDAC).
