Teachers show up for their students every single day, and today we’re focusing on Giving Tuesday to strengthen the safety net children depend on.
The Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF), CEA’s charitable arm, is raising funds to ensure that when students and teachers face the unthinkable unexpected hardship, crisis, or loss they never have to face it alone.
A child without a coat, a family who doesn’t have the funds to replace their child’s broken glasses, a student without enough to eat, a high school teacher recovering from a house fire, a school counselor whose child has cancer, a kindergarten teacher who lost his wife—these are all people the Boland Fund and the Children’s Fund, both CEF programs, have helped in their time of need.
This year, CEF is asking for donations that will go directly to these people in need. Our donors give students and teachers peace of mind. With your help, we can do that for so many more in the education community.
The Children’s Fund assists needy students in Connecticut’s public schools and provides for basic necessities such as clothing, food, medicine, eyeglasses, and hearing aids.
The Boland Fund helps teachers who face conditions as severe as family illness, unforeseen disasters, or other serious financial burdens.
With inflation and the lasting effects of the government shutdown still impacting many, we know families are struggling to make ends meet. If you are able, we hope you can give to support these two funds, which in turn support teachers and students in need. And if you or your students need assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to CEF!
This holiday season, please consider giving back and being a lifeline for students and teachers in need.
