Event supports educators and students in need and will be held at Amarante’s in New Haven
The Connecticut Education Association (CEA) is thrilled to announce its second annual fundraising gala, the CEA Celebrates 176th Anniversary Gala, scheduled for Friday, September 27, 2024, at Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven. This gala will support the Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF), the nonprofit arm of the CEA. CEF is dedicated to aiding those in need, providing essential school supplies, scholarships for aspiring educators, holiday gifts for families facing hardships, books for students in underfunded districts, and emergency assistance for educators encountering catastrophic illness or other crises.
“I invite all supporters of education and our dedicated educators to join us in celebrating the 176th anniversary of the Connecticut Education Association,” said CEF President Joslyn DeLancey. “This is not just an opportunity to honor our history but a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and educators across our state. By attending, sponsoring, or donating, you can help us provide essential supplies to students in need, support the development of future educators, and extend a helping hand to families and educators facing hardship.”
The Dalio Education is the gala’s title sponsor, reflecting its strong commitment to education and community support. WFSB News Anchor Nicole Nalepa will serve as the event’s emcee.
The CEA Excellence in Education Advocacy Awards will be presented to distinguished recipients, including:
· Barbara Dalio and Andrew Ferguson of Dalio Education
· Early career educator Devin Van Patten (Avon Public Schools)
· Retired educator Pat Jordan (Waterford Public Schools)
· Derby Public Schools Superintendent Matthew Conway
