What is CEA’s Summit on Diversity and why should you attend? CEA Racial & Ethnic Diversity Affairs Commission members Faith Sweeney and Luanelly Iglesias answer those questions and more with CEA President Kate Dias and Vice President Joslyn DeLancey in the latest episode of CEA’s podcast.
The CEA Summit on Diversity, taking place Saturday, March 29, at Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven, offers educators an opportunity to join a community committed to inspiring change, elevating leadership, and advancing diversity in education.
“There’s an opportunity for everyone to learn and grow with CEA, and this is one of those opportunities,” says Summit organizer Sweeney. “It’s a way for us to come together and raise the voice of ethnically and racially diverse members to take on leadership roles and step into places where we may not have thought we could go before.”
Keynote speaker Dr. Miguel Cardona will share his inspiring journey from classroom teacher to Connecticut education commissioner to the national stage, where he served as U.S. Secretary of Education under the Biden Administration. Dr. Cardona will offer insights on overcoming challenges, defining leadership in diverse environments, and empowering others to succeed.
