The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) is seeking feedback from special education teachers through a new survey designed to strengthen supports and services and improve outcomes for all students with disabilities. To get a clearer picture of what’s working well—and what could be improved—CSDE has partnered with WestEd, an independent research and evaluation organization.
In addition to this survey, WestEd is also conducting interviews and focus groups with educators, service providers, families, and others who work in or are impacted by special education across the state. All of this input will be analyzed, and the major themes will be shared in a report to the Connecticut Commissioner of Education. Your voice will help shape recommendations to strengthen policies, structures, and practices within both the Bureau of Special Education and CSDE more broadly.
The survey is anonymous, available in English and Spanish, and should take no more than 5–10 minutes to complete. WestEd will not share any personal or identifiable information with CSDE.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your perspective and help build a stronger, more inclusive education system for every student in Connecticut.
