It took two years of continual hard work, but a broad coalition of Killingly community members finally succeeded in getting students the mental health services they badly needed. The Killingly victory is the perfect example of how a community can come together and make positive change for students.
CEA’s Champions for Public Education Campaign is all about efforts that bring parents, community leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders together so that we can raise our collective voices to support students, strengthen public schools, and create a brighter future for every child.
In the latest episode of CEA’s podcast, Killingly parent Christine Rosati Randall (pictured third from left) shares with CEA President Kate Dias and Vice President Joslyn DeLancey the roles that she and others in Killingly took on in order to advocate for change.
“None of this could have happened without everyone who contributed along the way,” Rosati Randall says.
“What I love about this story is that it’s really a true community effort,” says DeLancey.
