Webinar participants will learn what it takes to qualify for both Teacher Loan Forgiveness and Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Presenters will discuss eligibility requirements for each program and how parents holding PLUS loans can also qualify for a discharge of their balance.
We’ll also learn about the factors you need to consider when deciding between those two forgiveness programs, how to rehabilitate loans that may have slipped into default, and how new teachers can effectively manage their debt when pursuing a Master’s degree. Finally, we’ll review the implications of Congress’s payment and interest forbearance in response to the COVID-19 emergency.

Serenity Now: Yoga for Teachers
April 24 and every Friday, 5-6pm
After a long week teaching, relax and destress in this yoga class designed for you and held every Friday. Strengthen, stretch, and destress as we work out the kinks from sitting at a screen for long hours. Put your overworked, overthinking brain aside and experience the joy of movement.
We’ll start by moving on the waves of breath, which is an awesomely soothing activity, and then spend time on yoga poses, aligning the body for evenness and harmony as we explore sensations of grounding, balancing, lifting, opening, and finding solace. Modifications are offered to attempt to meet all levels of experience. Short meditations and breathing techniques to calm the mind round out our physical practice. Watch yourself transform from frazzled to serene.
