The Connecticut Department of Public Health and State Department of Education have issued updated recommendations for COVID-19 prevention in Connecticut’s preK-12 schools this fall. With an overarching goal of 100% in-person learning, interim guidance includes
- Vaccination as the top prevention strategy
- Mask use on school buses
- Mask use indoors by unvaccinated individuals, in accordance with CDC recommendations, or by everyone in situations where vaccine status is unknown or case rates are high
- More activities outdoors when practical
- Additional lunch waves to reduce crowding in cafeterias, where possible
