Tomorrow is Election Day—make sure you have a plan in place to get out to the polls and vote. While presidential elections receive the most media coverage, local elections have the greatest impact on students’ experiences in school and teachers’ jobs.
“Pay close attention to who’s running for your board of education,” says CEA President Kate Dias. “That’s where a lot of the decisions about what and how our students are taught get settled.”
Many CEA members are stepping up and running for elected office this year. Read profiles about your colleagues who are on the ballot here and here.

Check out a sample municipal ballot for your town before going to the polls tomorrow. If you’re not already registered to vote, you can visit your town’s designated Election Day Registration site between 6am and 8pm tomorrow.
