Starting June 22, this challenge is a six-week guided self-care and wellness challenge for educators to help you restore your energy, reduce stress, and build lasting habits. Want to head to the gym with a friend or significant other who isn’t a CEA member? They’re invited too!
“As teachers, we spend all year going and going, downplaying our own needs, and putting everyone and everything else first; this summer is about my health, fitness, and well-being!” says Woodland Regional High School English teacher Meghan Hatch-Geary. “My husband and I are looking forward to exploring a new fitness space where we can try new things and spend time together taking care of ourselves. We are in need of an energy reboot, and this opportunity at Healthtrax sounds like an incredible way to recharge, restore, and replenish.”
Like many teachers, Hatch-Geary finds it hard to carve out space and time for her own fitness during the school year.
“Something else always comes up. And when I’m home, I always end up doing things on my to-do list rather than working out,” she says. “I’m excited to have an opportunity to go somewhere—a gym where my students don’t have memberships—and spend time focusing on me and my health. My body is craving this!”
