It’s Teacher Appreciation Week—and as you hopefully are recognized with cards, gifts, luncheons, or other tokens of appreciation from your school community, we hope that the State of Connecticut and legislators are ready to show thanks in bigger ways. We need support for educators’ priorities, and we need lawmakers to take action to recruit and retain educators and advance the teaching profession.
While this week is an opportunity to thank teachers for all that you do, we need to address the issues facing teachers year round—because educators’ teaching conditions are students’ learning conditions.
Thank you for all you do this week and every week. Check out some of the awesome perks we’ve lined up for you as a small thank you.
Together we must all continue to advocate for the teaching profession, here in Hartford and in communities across the state, to ensure a better future for all of us.
