Today’s Hartford Courant has an article about CEA’s new ad campaign.
“We’re trying to promote the image of teachers and remind the public of the hard work teachers do, especially during this time of dwindling resources, growing class sizes and budget battles. It’s a critical time to remind the public that teachers have a job unlike any other,” said CEA spokeswoman Kathy Frega.
“It’s also going to be a tough legislative session. We’re hoping that the state legislature will pay attention to the campaign as they make critical decisions about school funding and resources,” she said.
Each [ad] shows teachers hard at work preparing for class, meeting with parents and often putting in many hours behind the scenes, said Phil Apruzzese, president of the CEA, which represents 42,000 Connecticut teachers.
“These ads are simply to give the public an idea of what teaching is like in today’s world,” Apruzzese said.
