Hundreds of public school teachers are among those in Southern California who have lost their homes to wildfires in recent weeks, and thousands more are impacted by the crisis. There are a number of ways we can come together to support our fellow educators, members of the California Teachers Association.
One way to support educators is by donating to the CTA Disaster Relief Fund, a special fund set up to provide financial assistance to CTA members who have experienced significant losses due to disasters in California.
You can also donate directly to educators who have lost their homes in the wildfires. Local chapters of the CTA have verified and vetted all of the GoFundMe pages on this spreadsheet.
United Teachers Los Angeles has set up a mutual aid and disaster relief fund to support members facing displacement, unexpected costs, and for many, the loss of their homes. Your donation assists impacted UTLA educators across Southern California in managing unexpected costs and recovery.
You can also check out other ways the CTA recommends for supporting all those impacted by the wildfires.
