Have you ever wished that lawmakers could see what the reality of teaching and learning looks like? Participate in CEA’s Bring Your Legislator to School Week this October 23-27 to provide critical decisionmakers with the experience of spending a day in a teacher’s shoes.
A legislator will shadow you or a colleague for a minimum 1-2 hour block to better understand the challenges CEA members face every day.
If you are interested in taking part in this initiative, please talk to your local president so that they can connect you with CEA’s Government Relations Department who will assist you in inviting and setting up a classroom visit for your state representative or senator.
This is a valuable opportunity to build stronger relationships with state policymakers and to demonstrate the tremendous commitment teachers make to providing the best possible education for our students.
We want to build on last year’s list of legislative victories, which is why we’re pursuing new and innovative ways to engage with Connecticut lawmakers, such as Bring Your Legislator to School Week.
Please take our short survey and let us know how you would like to get involved.
