The Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF), CEA’s charitable arm, is hosting its annual golf tournament to benefit Connecticut children in need, and all CEA members are invited to participate.
There are still slots open in the morning shotgun! If you register as a foursome the fee is reduced to $600.
“Hands Across the Green is our largest fundraising event of the year,” says CEF President and CEA Vice President Joslyn DeLancey, “and we’re excited to be back on the course for a good time and a great cause. Whether this is your first time or your twenty-first, we encourage everyone who is interested to join us.”

In addition to players, tournament organizers welcome sponsors and volunteers. Hands Across the Green, which celebrates its 29th year this summer, includes a barbeque lunch, dinner program, and generous prizes. Morning and afternoon slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
“One hundred percent of the money raised goes directly to The Children’s Fund, CEF’s program to benefit Connecticut students whose families are struggling to afford the basics,” DeLancey says. “As educators, we all tend to pay out of our own pockets for supplies that will enhance our children’s school experience. Many teachers also find themselves helping their neediest students with food, school supplies, medical provisions, clothing, and other necessities. The Children’s Fund helps close that gap.”
Not a golfer, or can’t make the golf tournament? Local associations and local business can sponsor a hole or donate raffle prizes—and you can donate to support CEF year round at cea.org/cef.
