Faith Sweeney is K-5 literacy coach in the Westport Public Schools, but this year she’s taking on a different kind of work. As an NEA Teaching Fellow, during a year of absence from her school she is working to support CEA and local union’s diversity, equity, and inclusion agendas.
In the most recent episode of CEA’s podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, Sweeney discusses her plans for the year ahead with CEA President Kate Dias and Vice President Joslyn DeLancey.
They talk about the need to build capacity and create leadership opportunities for diverse educators throughout the association, and explain Sweeney’s plans to grow and support local association’s Ethnically Diverse Educators Commissions and Ethnic Minority Affairs Commissions.
