Build relationships with parents, students, and community members and establish a shared understanding of the Common Core at a forum Saturday, Jan. 25, at Cromwell High School.
The forum will feature Sandra Alberti of Student Achievement Partners and will include breakout sessions for attendees to engage in meaningful discussions about Connecticut’s implementation of Common Core. Participants will also have an opportunity for hands-on practice with the new Common Core aligned Smarter Balanced Assessments.
The event is free and begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. It also includes lunch.
Please register to attend and encourage parents, community members, and especially students to attend as well. Student perspective on the Common Core is crucial to the discussion.

Helmsley Charitable Trust makes a $3 million grant to align Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching to the Common Core State Standards. “The project will include a field study of the FfT and the CCSS Instructional Practice Guides, a new set of tools developed by Student Achievement Partners… to support teachers in making the instructional shifts called for by the CCSS.”
