A message from CEA President Kate Dias and Vice President Joslyn DeLancey.
As you head off to winter break, we hope you’re able to step away from the day-to-day demands of school and fully embrace a well-earned break. Teaching requires extraordinary energy, patience, and care, and this time away is an important opportunity to rest your mind, recharge your spirit, and enjoy being present with family, friends, and loved ones.
After months of supporting students, collaborating with colleagues, and navigating the many challenges that come with our profession, you deserve this pause. Taking time to relax and reflect isn’t just a luxury, it’s essential to returning refreshed, resilient, and ready for the work ahead.
These final days of December are also a chance to prepare for a fresh start in the new year and all that we can accomplish together. As you reconnect with colleagues in January, be sure to get up to speed on CEA activities by joining us for the CountyPalooza on January 27.
Opportunities to advocate for your students and colleagues will abound in the new year as the legislative session gets underway on February 4. The first of these will come at CEA’s Breakfast with Legislators on February 7—please mark your calendar.
To stay up to date on everything happening at CEA, we encourage you to sign up for the CEADaily.
For now, though, set aside your school responsibilities, they’ll be waiting for you when you return. You’ve earned this time to rest, and we hope it leaves you feeling renewed and ready for the year ahead.
