A Connecticut author and illustrator is helping foster a love for reading with a donation of books from one of his most famous series. Mercer Mayer, known for writing and illustrating the Little Critter and Little Monster children’s book series, has donated an array of books to the Connecticut Education Foundation to distribute to children across the state.
“Every time that I think things are hard or tough now, I remember that some of my former colleagues survived the Bridgeport strike,” CEA Vice President Joslyn DeLancey told CEA-Retired members at their fall meeting at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville this week.
“I appreciate that you continue to put one foot in front of the other and fight the good fight for public education despite our current climate,” CEA President Kate Dias told the more than 100 local union leaders from across the state who joined her yesterday for the virtual CEA County Forum.
