CEA leaders, members, and staff worked hard and were able to accomplish a number of wins this legislative session. Reflecting on the past months, Education Committee Chair Rep. Jeff Currey said, “Education was a priority for all four caucuses for the first time in any time I can remember, and in any time members who’ve been there for decades can remember.”
Currey and Education Committee Ranking Member Rep. Kathleen McCarty joined CEA President Kate Dias and Vice President Joslyn DeLancey for the latest episode of CEA’s podcast.
Currey and McCarty both focused on the collaboration that was a hallmark of efforts to pass education legislation, saying it was crucial to wins for students and teachers.
Thanking CEA for leaders and members’ concerted efforts to reach out to lawmakers, McCarty said, “We couldn’t do our work if you hadn’t brought to our attention what are the pressing issues.”
