CEA-Retired has endorsed two members to represent you on the State Teachers’ Retirement Board (STRB)—a board that is critical to the successful administration of your teacher pension and retiree healthcare benefits.
For decades, active and retired CEA members have served on the STRB in an effort to ensure the protection and smooth administration of these benefits. Due to bipartisan legislation that passed last spring, two new seats have been added to the STRB, ensuring retirees more representation on the board.
On September 28, you will be able to vote for two retired teachers to fill the newly created seats.
CEA-Retired endorsed two members for these positions.
- Maureen Honan worked as an educator for 41 years in Region 15 and served on the State Teachers’ Retirement Board as an active teacher from 2011-2017.
- Mary-Beth Lang taught for 41 years in Bridgeport, is currently CEA-Retired Vice President, and serves on the CEA Retirement Commission and the CEA Retired Legislation Committee.
