With updates to teacher evaluation guidelines taking longer than the State Department of Education anticipated, existing teacher evaluation flexibilities will extend into the 2022-2023 school year while the revision process continues. In April, every Connecticut school superintendent received a memo from the SDE regarding the flexibilities.

The first phase of Connecticut’s new model math curriculum for grades 6 to 8 and financial literacy curriculum for grades 6 to 12 was released recently. Developed by a team that includes classroom teachers, the curricula are designed to be flexible for teachers; rigorous and consistent; as well as diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
